Beautiful Barolos from a golden age

Barolos are known for a strong aging potential, especially when made by the best producers in the region. The challenge is that by the time these Barolos are at the peak of their performance, they are very hard to find.

The eighties are a particular period for Barolos. This decennium marked the transfer from the classic Barolos from the seventies and before, to the modern day Barolos which were launched on the market from the mid-nineties. These years of transfer are characterized by several good to great vintages, one after the other: 1982, 1985, 1988, 1989 and 1990.

A small number of producers already enjoyed world fame at that time and we are pleased that a number of wines from that golden era 1982 – 1990 showing this beautiful Barolo expression, despite their fame are now present in our auction: Giacomo Conterno's Barolo 'Cascina Francia', Bartolo Mascarello's Barolo and Giuseppe Mascarello's Barolo 'Monprivato' ( lots 2431, 2442, 2449, 2450 and 2451.)
