Temptation from Gevrey-Chambertin

“The 2019 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru is the most muscular, youthfully reserved wine in the range, unwinding in the glass with notions of sweet berries and plums complemented by hints of raw cocoa, exotic spices, grilled meats and burning embers. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's rich and textural, with broad shoulders and considerable concentration. It's a brilliant Clos de Bèze in the making.” – 97/100, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

The domain has 4 Grand Cru parcels: Charmes-Chambertin, Latricières-Chambertin, Griotte-Chambertin & Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze. It's Pinot Noir at its best. The Clos de Bèze receives great international acclaim and the Griotte-Chambertin is a rare gem with a maximum of 86 liters vinified each year.

Not only the Grand Crus, but also the Premier Crus from Duroché receive good reviews. Last year we tasted a 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaut-Saint-Jacques from Pierre ourselves and were very impressed.

Pierre Duroché is the 5th generation at the helm of the family business - founded in 1906 by great-great-grandfather Louis Duroché - with about 8 hectares of vineyards around Gevrey-Chambertin.

The vineyards are worked in the most natural way possible. And in the cellar, a resolute choice is made for finesse and elegance, including the use of new wood in the aging of the wines.

You can find 24 lots of Duroché in our upcoming auction. Have a look at lots 1381 to 1405, 2736 and 2737.
Seven lots come directly from the domain itself (1398 – 1405)!
