Whisky to look forward to

This auction we have the pleasure to present an exclusive collection of whisky again, a large part of which comes from distilleries that have now closed. Scarcity abounds with whisky from discontinued series and there are over 60 lots of bottles of which less than 100 have been produced. You will even find whiskies that have appeared in editions of less than 25 bottles!

The whisky market has been in full swing for over a decade now, with the real big and sought after distilleries gradually emerging. Yet there are still distilleries that were brushed aside a few years ago but are now on their way to cult status.

You will find whisky and distilleries from all over Scotland and Ireland, Ardbeg Single Casks, early Lagavulin Distillers Editions and a huge collection from the now closed Littlemill Distillery. This June auction's whisky collection spans the spectrum: past, present and future…

Lot 3773 to 3799: Chichibu distillery
A fairly new distillery that has already reached almost mythical status. Founded by Ichiro Akuto - his grandfather started the Hanyu distillery - it is represented with the illustrious Intergalactic 5 and 6, some rare single casks - which were exclusive to Sweden and Norway - the Belgian edition and an LMDW anniversary bottling. Perhaps the hardest lot to come by is the full Paris Edition vertical.

Lot 3801 and 3802: Karuizawa 'Noh'
Nec plus ultra. This collection includes two Karuizawa 'Noh' bottles: the 1983 aged 28 years and the 1981 aged 31 years. One bottle is a bit older than the other, but the younger one is a bit rarer. These bottles are almost never offered in a single auction, so it will be exciting to see which bottle will win the bidding war.

Lot 3875 to 3885: The Macallan
For years the pinnacle of investment grade whisky and this time we offer a number of entry level discontinued series including the 'Amber', 'Sienna' and 'Ruby' and a stunning 30 year old distillery release. Furthermore, lot 3880 should not be missed. This is a 1999 Single Cask bottling by Gordon & Macphail, of which only 78 bottles were ever produced. Although it is not on the bottle, the colour leaves no doubt as to the type of cask used.

Lot 3889 to 3891: Blackadder Blairfindy
As you may know, Blackadder, like many others, are not legally allowed to use the Glenfarclas name when they bottle their casks independently. Now we have probably the rarest independent Glenfarclas bottling around: the 1980 Single Cask 139 Year Old and 1979 40 Year Old with only 12 bottles produced each. We have not one but two copies of each edition.

Lot 3943 to 3962: Springbank

Probably the most sought after whiskies on the market today! This time we not only have hard-to-find 18 and 21 year old standards, but also several single cask bottlings. We finish it off with a few limited editions and especially two older limited society-members only releases. For those who really want to experience something special, we bring Campbeltown's holy grail: a 1966 Single Cask Local Barley.

Lot 4002: 1964 Bowmore Black 'Final Edition'.
What makes this bottle special are the euphoric descriptions of the taste and the great appeal to investors. It is a bottle that helped to accelerate the entire whisky market. Originally released in the early 1990s for a retail price of £80, the whisky was purchased for drinking at the time. As a result, there are very few bottles left.

You only see this whisky occasionally appearing on the market and most recently in June 2023 at Sylvie's. However, it might as well be another decade before you get another chance to acquire a bottle like this.

We wish you a lot of fun placing your bids.
