Cayuse: Cultwijn uit Washington
Cayuse Vineyards, gevestigd in Walla Walla Valley, Washington, is het prestigieuze project van de Franse wijnmaker Christophe Baron. Dit wijnhuis is wereldwijd bekend om zijn biodynamisch verbouwde wijngaarden en terroir-gedreven wijnen. De bodem, vol met kiezels die doen denken aan de Rhône, geeft de wijnen hun unieke minerale karakter.
Twee van zijn meest begeerde wijnen zijn de Syrah 'Bionic Frog' en de Syrah 'Wallah Wallah Special #11'. De Bionic Frog 2012 is een complexe, intens geconcentreerde Syrah met tonen van zwart fruit, olijf en aardsheid. Deze legendarische wijn wordt met maar liefst 99 punten gelauwerd door Jeb Dunnuck van The Wine Advocate.
