Emmanuel Brochet Champagne

Emmanuel Brochet

Based in the village of Villers-aux-Noeuds, Emmanuel Brochet cultivates 2.5 hectares of Premier Cru vineyards, planted with 37 percent Pinot Meunier, 30 percent Chardonnay and 23 percent Pinot Noir, producing 7,000 - 8,000 bottles per year. These vineyards are located in the lieu-dit Le Mont Benoit, where the oldest vines date back to 1962. The subsoil consists of loam, clay and lime. Since 2011, his vineyard has been certified organic, although Emmanuel had already converted to organic viticulture almost a decade earlier.

What makes Emmanuel Brochet extra special is that he is the first Champagne producer in his family. His approach is traditional, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. He uses a traditional vertical press, which allows him to bottle in small batches and lets fermentation occur naturally. His main cuvée, Le Mont Benoit Extra Brut, is a blend of two vintages and is characterized by its pure, precise and mineral-rich character. The release is after approximately 3 years of cellar maturation.

Brochet receives so many enthusiastic responses that his Champagne tightly deserves a place in the spotlight. You can find Emmanuel Brochet's Champagnes with us in lots 1116 to 1118
